Welcome Dr. Keene
Dr. Keene studied at the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2018. She is Fear Free Certified, and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Keene was raised a South-sider and is thrilled to return to the community she considers home.
In Dr. Keene’s words, “For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to animals.” That calling led her to pursue her veterinary degree. Becoming a veterinarian has allowed her to combine her lifelong love of animals with her passion for healing, problem-solving, and building meaningful relationships with families and their pets.
As Dr. Keene joins Bevlab, she would like her future clients to know a few things about her: She is a proud pet parent herself, her senior dog (Betty) and two cats (Banksy and Billy) help put her in her client’s shoes. She firmly believes preventive care is key to any pet’s health and understanding how to prevent problems – like knowing about common cat and dog toxins, or making sure your pet is up to date on preventative medications – is the best way to give your pet the best life. She also believes that veterinary care is about compassion, collaboration, and trust, and she looks forward to meeting you and your furry best friend!
